StarPi Opens Recruitment for the 2025–2026 Season
StarPi, the official rocketry team of the University of Pisa, is excited to announce the opening of recruitment for the 2025–2026 season. Our mission is to design, build, and launch the first student-made rocket from Pisa to compete in the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC), the largest student rocketry competition in Europe.
Joining StarPi means becoming part of a multidisciplinary team where students from different academic backgrounds collaborate on an ambitious and hands-on project. From engineering and science to organization and communication, there is room for anyone eager to learn, contribute, and grow.
By joining, students will have the opportunity to:
gain practical experience in aerospace and rocketry,
develop both technical and soft skills,
take part in a truly international challenge.
StarPi is structured into several specialized sectors, each with unique responsibilities:
Flight Dynamics and Avionics: development of the rocket’s dynamic model, aerodynamic simulations, design of aerodynamic surfaces, selection and integration of avionics systems.
Propulsion, Structures and Manufacturing: physical production of rocket components, engine selection, thrust transfer system design, structural integration, and resistance testing.
Recovery System: parachute and linkage system selection, bay separation system design, efficiency testing of the ejection system, and parachute verification tests.
Payload: definition of payload type, design of the rocket interface and payload structure, and selection of the onboard avionics system.
Marketing and Logistics: event planning, administrative tasks, public relations, social media management, and supplier/order management.
A membership fee of €5 is required to join the team (because it's an Association - Associazione Culturale StarPi). In return, members will receive exclusive StarPi gadgets as a welcome gift.
You will also have the chance to meet the team in person at the Bright Night on September 26, where we will showcase our work and answer questions.
Applications are open until October 19.
Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of the future of rocketry at the University of Pisa!
